My Recent Hobby: Reading Novels

I've grown to love reading novels this college and I want to share some of the books I've already read from my first year until now.

P.S. I might have not included some of them (I've forgotten some of them already).

High School Never Ends

Hi again! One month and 10 days have passed since my last post (been very busy with school). Since February is ending without me posting even 1 blog yet for this month, I've decided to make one. This will be short this time, I hope. 

Have you remembered the day you entered high school? I guess you felt very nervous and at the same time enthusiastic. You didn't expect that you're entering a period in your life that you will cherish the most. That here, you will meet the people you will never dare forget. Also, here you will experience the stage between becoming an adult and being a child, BEING A TEEN.

Entering first year will be the most challenging period in high school. It is where you will adjust with all things labeled new: new setting, new classmates, new teachers, new burdens, new lessons, etc etc. But, at the end of the year, you will gain friends (that's the best part). Second year will turn to be a balance of being a good student and an i-dare-to-defy-teachers attitude. Here you will make the bonds with your batch mates stronger. Third year is considered the "PERIOD OF BEING WILD". You will turn out to be very naughty, hard-headed, having an easy-go-lucky attitude, all for the sake of seeking attention of just feeling the fun of it. Fourth year is the period of " MIXED NUTS", happiest days, loneliest end of the year, struggling to graduate, finding ways and means to get into college. This is time when the wild ones are tamed by the fact that they must earn a certificate of good moral in order to graduate. This is also when we say our goodbyes to the people whom we shared our laughters, tears, hardships, triumphs, failures, and even love.This is the time when we promise not to let go in spite of the inevitable fact that each of you will have to take a new road afterwards.

I could describe my high school years memorable. It is where I experienced my first failure, my first taste of hardships, first appreciation of my talent in journalism, and meeting the persons whom I, until now, regard as my best buddies. I missed the times I was being referred to as the "grade school pupil who's lost in high school". I remembered the times I shared with my classmates: doing group projects, staying late at someone's house just to finish some requirements or just hanging out. Indeed, they were the best people I have encountered with, despite of the attitudes of some of them.

High school is such a fun and nerve-racking experience. It is a right mix of play and work. It is a treasure chest filled with precious memories. And most of all, this is the time we learn a lot of things.

(P.S. I wrote this because I feel nostalgic remembering my high school classmate...I miss you ALL!)

An Idiot Can Also Teach A Lesson

Hey!.....It's my birthday today!....(Happy Birthday to me!...XD)....But my blog for this moment would not talk of how I feel about my birthday, rather I will be sharing my insights on the movie I watched last Thursday. It is entitled "3 Idiots".

3 Idiots Trailer

3 Idiots is about 3 individuals that went to the same school (Imperial College of Engineering) which is under the supervision of an Idealist (from an educator's view) Director. One of the three named Rancchoddas Shyamaldas Chanchad (played by the famous Bollywood actor Aamir Khan) tries to change the school's curriculum from a dog-eats-dog, memorize-every-word-on-this-page style to a practical and facilitative way of teaching Engineering. This was opposed by the director, named ViruS (short for Viru Sahastrabudhhe), for he believes that his methods were the most effective way of teaching students.


The movie has a good mix of themes: comedy, education, student life, love story, success, family, etc. This is a all-in -one movie, a movie that will tell a lesson while you are trying to wipe tears rolling down your cheeks and laughing at the same time. This is indeed one of the best movies I've ever watched (along with Forrest Gump, Anak, The Kite Runner, The Emperor's Club etc.). 


What I really like about this movie is that, it has a very deep implication in the methods of teaching we experience in our classes. Now, watch this video, and see how Rancho will, demonstrate what teaching and learning is for him.

Another striking reality that this movie showed is "the value of friendship". Rancho showed that a true friend will help in times you really need help. Also, he gives very good advices that helped his friends realize their weaknesses.


Well, another would be on "what course will you take". Did you remember when you were still on your fourth year in high school? It's either you will have a say on what course you feel you love the most or simply you don't have a choice. This movie showed that we "should marry and embrace the field we love the most". We should not be afraid and pressure ourselves in succeeding in the course that, in the first place, your heart resents.


If I go through all the details of the movie in this blog, then you will not be very excited to see it. So I'll just stop here and leave to you the rest. Surely, you won't regret the almost-3-hour-duration of this masterpiece.

My Very First Blog

Hi!

This is my very first time to post a blog. Honestly, I'm kind of embarrassed and nervous to even post blogs. I still don't know why I even started blogging in the first place. Well, ironic isn't it? But anyway, I want to jump-start my career in blogging by sharing how I thought of blogging before.

Uhmm, to tell you honestly, I really find blogging  very tedious before. Why? Basically, I'm not really expressive (and LAZY---period). All my thoughts are just contained in the storage that has a limitless memory ---- MY MIND. I find posting it very "cheesy" and old school. Another reason would be that I thought before that posting a blog could lead you to quarrels over the cyberspace (you can't just please everybody). There will be someone who will shamelessly put negative feedbacks on your posts.

But, 1 circumstance really changed the way I see blogging. I suddenly crossed one blog entry by my former schoolmate. As I looked on her posts, I saw that blogging is a reservoir of your innermost feelings, of the things that suddenly crosses your mind. Those thoughts that you tend to push in the very corner of your mind will be tangible in the form of a blog. That is when I decided to make a Blogspot account and occasionally post some of my thoughts here.

I hope that this will not be a "ningas-kugon" act for me and hopefully, I can update this and write more blogs!
